Need to Know Tips for First Time Floaters
When should I schedule?
Schedule your appointment for a time when you can relax and be able to enjoy the experience without rushing. Also be sure you do not have any strenuous or stressful activities immediately after the session. This will provide time for you to contemplate your experience and focus on any thoughts or emotions that might have arisen during the session.
When should I arrive?
Please arrive 30 minutes prior to your appointment so as to ensure you receive the full float time. Anyone arriving late will be asked to reschedule as this will disrupt the time allowed for the next floater.
Can I wear contact lenses?
If you wear contact lenses it is suggested you remove them as the salt may sting your eyes.
Do I need to bring any supplies?
Towels, shampoo, soap, earplugs, and other amenities are provided for you.
Can I eat before floating?
We recommend eating a small snack/meal at least 45 minutes prior to your scheduled float allowing time to digest your food.
Can I shave before floating?
Do not shave for at least 4-6 hours before your float as the highly concentrated salt solution will sting your skin. If you have any small cuts or scratches, we will provide liquid band-aid to cover those up. Please inform the staff if you require liquid band-aid.
What if I have colored my hair?
The salt water will not harm colored or treated hair. However, we ask that you wait a minimum of 72 hours after any hair treatments so as not to contaminate the water in the pod.
Should I wear swimwear
Swim wear may be worn but it is recommended that no clothing or swimwear be worn. Understand that even the feel of any clothing becomes an attachment to the ‘physical’ awareness and distractive to the ultimate purpose of the float. In the pods you are deeply connected with your Body and Mind.
What if I have a spray tan?
Please refrain from sun tanning products or spray tanning sessions prior to floating. The skin requires time to heal and may be extra sensitive to the high intensity of the salt solution and other cleansing agents.
Should I shower prior to floating?
Showers are provided in each private float room. Showering is required prior to entering the float tank even if you have showered at home prior to your appointment. Deodorants, hair products, body lotions, makeup, perfumes, and colognes must be removed before entering the pod. This is required to maintain the overall hygiene and cleanliness of the pod for the next floater. We also recommend the removal of any jewelry and accessories as they will only distract from the weightlessness of your overall experience.
What if I am menstruating?
Females experiencing their menstrual cycle the day of their float MUST reschedule their appointment.
